George Matthews is a managing director for Kayne Anderson’s client relations group, responsible for consultant relations, institutional business development and client relations.
Matthews has 29 years of investment industry experience, most recently with Zazove Associates, responsible for business development. Prior to Zazove, Matthews was at Allspring Global Investors where he was the Head of Institutional business development for the Systematic Edge platform, a $28 billion business. Prior to Allspring Global Investors, Matthews was a Partner and Global Head of Business Development at Analytic Investors LLC, a quantitative investment firm based in Los Angeles. Prior to Analytic, Matthews was a Senior Consultant Relations manager for Wells Fargo Asset Management. Matthews also served as a fixed income portfolio manager at Banc of America Capital Management and Wilshire Associates.
Matthews began his investment career in 1995. Matthews earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University, Chico, and an MBA with an emphasis in finance from the University of Oregon. In addition, Matthews has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
