Los Angeles, California, June 4, 2019 – Recently, The M&A Advisor announced the winners of the 2019 Emerging Leaders Awards.
The M&A Advisor, renowned globally for its recognition of leading M&A, financing and turnaround professionals, created this event to promote mentorship and professional development amongst the emerging business leaders.
Andrew DeYoung and Robert Shilton have been chosen for their accomplishments and expertise from a pool of nominees by an independent judging panel of distinguished business leaders.

On Tuesday, September 17, The M&A Advisor will host a black tie Awards Gala at the New York Athletic Club in Manhattan to introduce the 2019 Emerging Leaders Award Winners to the business community and to celebrate their achievements. The Awards Gala is a feature of the 2019 Emerging Leaders Summit—an exclusive event bringing current and past Emerging Leaders Awards winners together with their peers and industry stalwarts.

Andrew DeYoung
Andrew DeYoung is Director of Business Development and Operations for Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors’ growth equity activities. He works closely with the partners overseeing and managing fundraising processes and business development efforts at both the fund and individual portfolio company levels. He is also involved on the investment side identifying and analyzing investment opportunities, assisting with monitoring of portfolio companies, and is involved at the board level with select companies. He deals with NewRoad Capital Partners on the Kayne NewRoad Ventures Fund, and monitoring Kayne’s earlier stage growth companies.
Prior to joining Kayne Capital’s growth private equity group, he worked as a special advisor to Ric Kayne, Chairman of Kayne Capital and as COO of Jenni Kayne, an LA based lifestyle and fashion brand. Prior to Kayne Capital, he worked with D-W Investments, LLC, a family investment firm in Chicago focused on real estate, private equity and venture fund and direct investing and Gemstone Real Estate Partners, where he sourced and analyzed office and industrial real estate investment opportunities. Mr. DeYoung began his career as an associate in the healthcare Investment Banking group at GCA Global, an international full service investment bank, headquartered in San Francisco. Mr. DeYoung graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Psychology from Brown University in 2005.
Robert Shilton
Robert Shilton is a vice president for Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors’ growth equity activities. He is primarily responsible for identifying and analyzing investment opportunities. He also assists with the monitoring of portfolio companies and deal execution.
Mr. Shilton has been an avid swimmer for over fifteen years. He has competed at the national level and has held the position of captain of the swim team for the University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Shilton graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania.
